Baby Things: Stroller

I know we are still so early in our pregnancy (10w2d today!) that even looking at baby things is probably bad luck, but alas I'm a planner.

Yes, I'm one of those!  I like to have everything planned out at least in my head, if not in my trusty paper planner to know what's going to come up.  Obviously, I can't plan everything, nor would I want to, but I like to be prepared.  I was never a Girl Scout or Boy Scout but maybe I should have been.

Yesterday in my funk of a day, I coerced my husband into going to Target with me.  Really I wanted to wander the aisles and just try to get my mind in order.  Plus I had a prescription to pick up so really it worked out well.

As we finished the pantry section, we wandered to the home section, which ultimately led to the baby section.  Being that this i our first pregnancy, we are pretty clueless when it comes to the options out there.  Tarjay was nice enough to have some strollers already set up to test.  You know for clueless parents like us :-)

First we tested the Eddie Bauer Trailmaker Travel System; then the Safety 1st Saunter Travel System.  Both were lovely and when the time comes to purchase/register for some kind of vehicle to push the Peanut around in, we will keep them in mind.

My boss recommended this morning the Graco Snugrider Elite Stroller Frame or something similar.  She said it was a lifesaver for her and her son, especially if she was on her own to haul the stroller in/out of the car.  I've been checking them out too and  pricing options for our family.

But, the really important  thing I learned yesterday was...

- My husband and I need some practice getting the car seat in and out of the stroller.  We were pressing levers and buttons for 5 minutes before we read the instruction manual.

- Strollers are ridiculously heavy to be lifting even with a 1 handed push button closer thing.

Any recommendations or opinions on strollers out there?
